1. General Agreement

By enrolling in and attending SJ Driving School the student agrees to the following terms and conditions. These terms constitute a legal agreement between the school and the student and are subject to change at the school’s discretion. It is the responsibility of the student to review these terms regularly.

2. Eligibility

  • Students must provide valid identification and any required permits/licenses before commencing any driving lessons.
  • Students must meet the legal requirements for age, health, and vision standards as stipulated by local laws governing driver training.
  • The school reserves the right to refuse service if the student does not meet these requirements.

3. Payment Policy

  • All lessons and course fees must be paid in advance, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
  • Payment can be made via credit card, debit card, bank transfer, or other approved methods.
  • Any packages purchased must be used within the stated validity period (e.g., within 6 months of purchase). Unused lessons after this period may not be refunded.

4. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

  • Notice Period: Students must provide at least 48 hours’ notice if they wish to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Failure to do so will result in the full price of the lesson being charged.
  • Late Cancellations: If a cancellation is made within the 48-hour window, the student will be charged the full fee for the lesson.
  • No Shows: If the student fails to attend a lesson without prior notice, they will be charged for the full price of the missed lesson.
  • School Cancellations: In the event that the school or instructor has to cancel a lesson, students will be given the option to reschedule at no additional cost.

5. Personal Hygiene and Conduct

  • Hygiene: Students must maintain appropriate personal hygiene, which includes cleanliness and wearing appropriate attire for driving lessons. This ensures the comfort of both the student and the instructor during the lesson.
  • Inappropriate Conduct: The school reserves the right to cancel or terminate a lesson if the student is deemed unfit to drive due to illness, poor hygiene, intoxication, or any form of misconduct. In such cases, the full fee for the lesson will be charged.
  • Health and Safety: Students are required to inform the instructor of any medical conditions that may affect their driving ability. If the instructor feels the student is unfit to drive for safety reasons, the lesson may be postponed or canceled.

6. Refund Policy

  • Refunds: Refunds for unused lessons are available if cancellation is requested in writing at least 7 days before the start of the course. An administrative fee may apply.
  • No Refunds: Once lessons or courses have begun, no refunds will be issued except in exceptional circumstances (e.g., a verified medical condition that prevents the student from continuing the course).
  • Unused Lessons: Any lesson packages must be completed within the validity period. Unused lessons beyond this period may not be refunded or rescheduled.

7. Instructor and Vehicle Allocation

  • While the school strives to assign the same instructor and vehicle for each lesson, this cannot be guaranteed due to scheduling constraints or unforeseen circumstances.
  • The school reserves the right to change instructors or vehicles if necessary, but will notify the student of any changes in advance whenever possible.

8. Student Responsibilities

  • Valid License/Permit: Students must bring their valid learner’s permit or driving license to each lesson. Failure to present the permit/license may result in the lesson being canceled, and the full fee charged.
  • Punctuality: Students are expected to be on time for their lessons. If the student is late, the lesson may be shortened accordingly. If the student is more than 15 minutes late, the lesson may be canceled, and the full fee charged.

9. Liability

  • The school provides fully insured vehicles for all lessons. However, the school is not liable for any damage, injury, or loss caused by the student’s negligent actions during or outside of the lesson times.
  • The school is not responsible for any fines, penalties, or infractions incurred by the student outside of lesson times.

10. Practical Driving Test

  • The school does not guarantee that students will pass the driving test, as it depends on the student’s individual performance and driving abilities.
  • The school can assist in booking the practical driving test but is not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by the licensing authority.

11. Privacy Policy

  • The school respects student privacy and will ensure that any personal data collected during the registration process or during lessons will be kept confidential and only used for operational purposes.

12. Amendments

  • The school reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Changes will be communicated to students as necessary.
